Go fully plant-based and size catering orders on past consumption data
The whole festival menu is plant-based. Compostable single-use tableware has been replaced with reusable tableware. Order quantities are set using consumption data from previous editions rather than guesswork, to limit food waste, and catering partners are required to provide a detailed environmental footprint per dish (CO2 per plate) so choices can be steered toward organic, seasonal and local ingredients.
This applies to an outdoor, urban electronic music festival; the shift to a fully plant-based menu took effect in 2022.
The source gives one concrete figure, from the 2024 edition: more than 1,322 plant-based burgers sold with one catering partner, which it equates to over 280,000 litres of water saved — the suggested daily water intake for 140,000 people. No budget figure is given.
