Test battery-and-solar systems as an alternative to the diesel generator
Two battery-based systems are tested as a replacement for the diesel generator: a small solar-and-battery unit, silent, transportable by one or two people, built with more than 98% recycled battery cells, for smaller productions or top-up needs; and a larger battery-plus-solar unit with a hybrid HVO generator as backup, for heavier productions on a fixed site, monitored remotely by app but less suited to frequent moves given its weight.
The smaller unit fits mini-series or productions with modest power needs; the larger one suits bigger productions that stay on one location.
The source does not give a CO2 figure for either system. It does give the cost: roughly 89 euros a day for the smaller unit, and around 800 euros a week for the larger one.
