Phase out diesel generators in stages, ending on green grid power plus batteries

The festival cuts diesel use step by step over several editions — from a baseline of 50,000 litres down to 2,150 litres, then through a transitional period on biodiesel — before moving, from 2022, to fully fossil-free power: more than two-thirds of the site's energy comes from the host venue's green grid connection, the rest from batteries. Energy use is mapped zone by zone from equipment lists and operating hours.

This is a multi-year approach, and depends on the host site already having, or being able to get, a green grid connection — it is easiest to repeat at a venue that already has that infrastructure.

The source gives a 95.7% drop in diesel between the baseline year and 2019. No overall carbon or budget figure is given for the later, fossil-free phase.
